In order to further promote the practical cooperation of the BRICS countries in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), at the 2nd Meeting of BRICS Communication Ministers (Bangalore, 2016) and the 3rd Meeting of BRICS Communication Ministers (2017, Hangzhou) Based on previous work, the 4th Meeting of BRICS Ministers of Communications (Durban, 2018) formally approved the establishment of the BRICS Institute of Future Networks (BIFN), encouraging and supporting countries in building BIFN branches based on the Council mechanism.
The mission of BIFN is to be demand-driven, project-based, open platform, and scientifically managed. Its scope is broad and its goals are long-term. It focuses on the research and cooperation on future networks and emerging technologies, and promotes exchanges and capacity building among BRICS countries.

Recently, the BRICS Summit was held in Kazan, Russia from October 22 to 24, 2024, and the topics discussed at the conference included expanding member countries, strengthening economic and political ties with partners, and consolidating the position of BRICS countries on the world stage.

We have designed a new institutional identity for the BRICS Future Internet Research Institute. The logo consists of five colors, each corresponding to the national flag of a BRICS country, arranged in a striped pattern and with a sense of movement that wraps around. The movement is intended to resemble a ball, symbolizing the BRICS countries' desire for unity, cooperation, interdependence, and partnership for mutual development.

The establishment of BIFN has great significance, which can promote comprehensive and practical cooperation in future network technology innovation and other areas between BRICS member countries, and strive to build international cooperation and exchange platforms for future network technologies.
Meanwhile, we developed the BIFN international website using our own proprietary research and development framework, which supports over 5 languages, responsive layout, and can be accessed by customers on devices of various sizes and systems.
