We participated in the design of a new business system of COSCO· Zhongyuan Haite, involving user experience, product prototype, user interface service content, and output a complete design specification and component manual.
1. Project background
COSCO is an international shipping company based in China, headquartered in Shanghai. The company is mainly engaged in container shipping, bulk shipping, oil transportation and other businesses. COSCO is one of the world's largest shipping companies with more than 300 routes worldwide, covering major ports in more than 100 countries and regions around the world. With more than 500 vessels and a gross tonnage of nearly 20 million tons, the company is one of the largest container shipping companies in the world.
In addition to shipping business, COSCO is also involved in port facilities, ship chartering, ship repair and other related industries. The company is also actively promoting digital transformation, introducing technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to improve transportation efficiency and customer experience.
As an important shipping enterprise in China, COSCO Haite has become one of the important carriers of China's internationalization strategy and has made important contributions to the development of China's economy.
2. The core of business system is to build value network
An efficient business system needs to identify the relevant activities and integrate them into a system according to the positioning of the enterprise, and then assign the roles of stakeholders according to the resource capacity of the enterprise, and determine the relationship and structure of the value chain activities related to the enterprise.
Such a business system of internal and external cooperation built around the enterprise positioning will form a value network that defines the role of customers, suppliers, and other partners in influencing the value that the enterprise derives from the business model. Therefore, the key to the establishment of business system lies in the overall analysis of the surrounding environment of the industry and the interacting economic entities.
Based on this, we have collected a lot of feedback information from users in the design process. How to let users get information, convey content and deal with business quickly and accurately in the system is the core issue of our thinking.
3. What are the specific contents of the business system
In the early stage of designing and building the business system, we must analyze the business requirements of COSCO, which is an indispensable step. First of all, it is necessary to understand the existing business processes and requirements, communicate with relevant departments, and determine the business needs and objectives after the upgrade.
Secondly, user experience design focuses on the needs and habits of users, and designs user-friendly interfaces and interactions to enhance user experience.
After the formal design, we should design the data model, analyze and design the database structure, and ensure the consistency, integrity and security of the data. This is the backbone of the business system and must be logical and logical.
With sufficient preparatory work in the early stage, everything will come naturally in the system architecture design, function module design, technology selection and integration stage. We display COSCO circulation information, routes, customer resources, work flow and other data through charts and tables, so that the information is clear all the way.
We have also made the interface and interactive page adapted to the mobile terminal. In terms of visual presentation, in order to reduce the visual pressure brought by data, we have also designed a set of ICONS to assist information classification.
We hope that from the visual level and the functional level, we can ensure that users can easily and concisely operate this system in various scenarios, obtain information quickly, and deal with business efficiently.
We have also done a series of UX interactive content designs to simulate the user's usage trajectory, so as to draw a conclusion and propose a more optimized process after optimization to guide users to obtain information and handle work more conveniently.
The business system is a huge network, involving a lot of data and important information, so, to achieve smooth use of the same time, we must consider the "security" factor. We need to ensure the security requirements of the system, design security policies and measures to protect the security of the system and data.
When all the sections are completed, we also consider the sustainability of the system, designing a high-performance and scalable architecture.
In the visual design of the interface, we choose a simple and clear style to avoid too much decoration and unnecessary elements, which will cause trouble to the user's vision. The color should be mainly used in blue and green related to shipping, highlighting the characteristics of refreshing and rigorous, and also in line with the positioning of the enterprise.
